the phrase “final repose” comes from the x-files season 3 episode “clyde bruckman's final repose” for which the writer of the episode and the titular clyde bruckman won emmys (accounting for two out of the three emmys that x-files has won, the other being gillian anderson for outstanding lead)

  • for each episode of x-files take no more than a thousand words from the transcript

  • for each thousand words many are chosen and then rearranged into semi-meaningful poetry

  • articles and prepositions are allowed for insertion even if they don’t belong to the original thousand-word selection, but no more than 5 of either

  • all poems must portray at least the mood or philosophical crux of the original episode
